Sign Language and Interpreting
The Headquarters Disability Program Coordinator serves as the staff sign language interpreter, and provides services to the deaf and hard-of-hearing staff on an as-needed basis. In the event the staff interpreter is not available, contract interpreters will be provided.

Disability Services also works with organizations to procure readers for the blind or personal assistant services for their employees with disabilities.

Interpreting Services Policy
Requests:
The Disability Program Coordinator arranges services for Headquarters events only. Headquarters employees attending training or events not held at/arranged by Headquarters are required to make accommodation arrangements through the training/event sponsor. Support services for individuals with disabilities will be provided on an as-needed basis only. Requests made less than two (2) weeks in advance will be filled based on availability of the service provider.

Extension of Scheduled Service Time:
Acceptance by the requesting office of contractor services beyond the scheduled service time is an unauthorized commitment of government funds. Contact toward such authorization must be made with the Headquarters Disability Program Coordinator prior to receiving any additional services.

Cancellation:
Service cancellations must be made three (3) full business days prior of the date of the event.

Fees:
The Headquarters Disability Services office assumes responsibility for the payment of authorized services provided. Unauthorized services will be paid by the requesting office.

Open Programs and Events:
Services for programs/events conducted at Headquarters locations will be provided upon request from an employee or visitor with a disability only.
